Classic design
with its pontoon fenders and eggcrate grille, this 226-in.-long postwar cadillac series actually dated from a 1941 design. The other cadillacs were restyled for 1948, but the series 75 look was so admired it remained for two more years. The only appreciable change was a reduction in the number of horizontal grille bars from six to five for 1947. The 5.7-litre v8 engine, common to all cadillacs, had been improved during the war for use in army tanks.

schwartz made special bodies. Cadillac also made a series 75 l63-in.-wheelbase chassis to be bodied as hearses and ambulances by outside coachbuilders.
