Without a doubt the most beautiful Chrysler of 1949 was the Town and Country convertible, now a covered collectors car. The exterior of the car was fitted with genuine white ash wood framing and mahogany veneer panels, white the interior featured all-leather fitting with pleated leather inserts. The Woodie was powered by a 135-hp 323-cid 8-cylinder engine along with a Fluid Drive transmission. Fever then 1000 of these convertibles were built in 1949.

About vehicle
During the early years of automobile production, wood-bodied vehicles were mostly used as work vehicles. Depot Hacks transported passengers from train stations to hotels.
