in the words of a dodge executive, the viper is a no-excuses car for no-excuses people. it is a two-seat roadster with an all-aluminum 400hp eight-litre v10 engine. Capable of 165 mph, it has been clocked accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and dragging the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds. Only 200 vipers, all in firehouse red, were produced during the first model year. For 1993, black vipers were added, with green and yellow added later. Production was expected to near or top 1,000.
