| | About vehicle The sportiest falcon
now the most collectable of ford falcons, the sprint was introduced in february 1963 with the same bucket-seat interior as the futura but with extras like wire wheel covers and a special glass-packed muffler. For 1964, all falcons were restyled, with a concave grille and a bold bodyside spear molding. The futura sprint was the top trim level, with four hash marks just in front of the taillights. The 1965 falcons had a narrower chrome bodyside spear and a new grille with a center vertical bar.
six or eight cylinders
the standard engine for all 1963-64 falcons was a six-cylinder that offered little in the way of performance, but a 260-cu.-in. V8 was available as an option. This engine was used by three
specially prepared sprints that made the models debut in the 1963 monte carlo rally. For 1964 a 289-cu.-in. V8 was also optional, and in high performance form it reached 271 hp. The 289 was the only v8 available for 1965. This competition futura sprint has the 1964 ford falcons bold bodyside spear molding |
