| | About vehicle Holy bertone
evolved directly from alfas smaller giulietta 1300 ss series, the rarer giulias were distinguishable by their head-turning bertone bodies. Starting at the forward tip of its low alfa profile, the giulia placed an emphasis on plunging lines with a single-bar wide-mouth grille, sloped hood and oversized headlights. From a similarly-styled rear, the cars trunk dropped severely from the big back window. The bertone lines bespoke the skill of a sculptor, but they also provided superior visibility for the lucky driver.on a clear day
the giulia was built for the open road. All that plunging steel made interior visibility so good it was almost disconcerting. The edges of the car were invisible, leaving thedriver feeling as if he were actually outside, unencumbered by a ton of steel and glass. Ss stood for sprint speciale, and a throaty, double-overhead-cam, four-cylinder powerplant and smooth new five-speed made it a fast and popular choice on the amateur road racing circuit. The giulia 1600 ss frequently found itself in competition with its teutonic rival the porsche 956. |
