tale of two convertibles
convertible production consisted of 7,825 standard ones and 815 eldorado biarritzes. The biarritz had ten vertical chevron slashes instead of five horizontal windsplits in front of the rear wheel openings, and sculptured beauty panels in place of the rear chrome moldings. The 1958 cadillac six-litre v8 engine gained 10 horses to
310 hp. The eldorado engine, optional for other cadillacs, reached 355 hp with three two-barrel carburetors. Shown here is the standard 1958 cadillac convertible, decorated with chrome and stainless steel; The eldorado biarritz model was even more lavish. |
