| | About vehicle Several lasers
introduced in 1989 as a 1990 model, the base laser has a 1.8-litre overhead-cam engine. The laser rs has a two-litre, double-overhead-cam version of this engine, and the rs turbo has the turbocharged version of the rs engine, including an air-to-air intercooler. All were developed by mitsubishi, which also provided the transmission, and all are frontwheel-drive models. For 1992 a fourwheel-drive rs turbo model was added to the laser lineup. An antilock braking system was introduced for 1991.
restyled for 1992
chrysler designed the space-age tail in the air look of the laser on a 97-in. Wheelbase. A restyle for 1992 increased its length by almost 3 in., with a more rounded hood and fenders, exposed aero
headlights in place of pop-ups and a new taillight treatment. All but the base laser cany 16-in. Wheels. When furnished with a tiirbochargerfor its four-cylinder engine, this plymouth laser rs achieves top speed worthy of its name. |
