About vehicle
Handsome devils ac owes its long survival to the fact that it curtailed production almost entirely during the great depression (after two financial crises, the firm was liquidated in 1929 and sold) and was only able to resume work in the early thirties with a generous burden of debt. The reborn ac played it safe, building handsome sports cars with typically british styling: Cutaway doors, fold-flat windshields and long, sweeping fenders. Under the hood remained the faithful double-overhead-cam engine that dated back to 1919- the rarest ace the most coveted and prized of the thirties acs was the ace 1680, built on a chassis shortened by fourteen inches and lightened by the removal of its cruciform crossmember. It was an excellent car for trials and rallies and a thoroughly comfortable one, too, for everyday driving. Though the ace 1680 looked good, it had few sporting successes, and its relatively high price restricted its sales the car found just eleven buyers.
The ac ace sports two-seater was one of the most handsome cars of its day, but it suffered from sluggish sales.
