About vehicle
The birth of a legend chevrolet conceived the impala as the bel air executive coupe, thus releasing it as a subseries of the popular bel air line, but its immense popularity happily forced chevrolet to create an entirely separate line of impalas in 1959- there were reasons for this popularity. The impalas were longer, wider, lower and heavier than other chevys, reflecting forecasted consumer demand for an automobile that had luxury and unique styling as opposed to spirited performance. This pushed the car into the medium-price range, but people were willing to pay. the hot one the 1958 convertible and hardtop are considered classic and highly coveted impalas for several reasons other than the fact that ads toted them as being longer, lower, lovelier by far. the newr x-member chassis was heavier, but thanks to a longer wheelbase and a new four-link suspension with coil springs, the ride was considerably smoother than the 1957 models.
This 1958 impala convertible was one of 55,989 sold, hardtop coupe sales were 125,480. Collectors are now paying as much as $50,000 for these first impalas.
